Video Works 2024-2025

Peripheral Movement 1

2025

Peripheral Movement 1, excerpt from single-channel recorded video installation of a total 17 minutes and 51 seconds, created 2025.

In Peripheral Movement 1, viewers are asked to reflect on the hypnosis of transit, specifically the way we gain information through our peripheral vision. The artist explores how in the distracted moments of peripheral movement, we often are less—not more— sheltered from passing thoughts, worries, and dreams.

Peripheral Movement 1 was demoed in class in 2025, viewers were asked to take turns experiencing the video through their peripheral vision while seated parallel to the screen, as well as viewing it from afar.

The Virgin Museum

November 2024

The Virgin Museum, double-channel found footage video installation of 7 minutes and 21 seconds, created October-November of 2024.

Installations

November 11, 2024

Two-channel video, interactive projection of Roger’s 137 page manifesto, ‘physical archive’ table including vintage photos of young Americans, a diagram of the ‘museum’ and a labeled archive box.

A commentary on social concepts of sexual virginity and material purity, this video work combines found YouTube footage from a Russian boy’s choir with a series of accompanying videos and images that ultimately land on Elliot Roger, “a British-born American mass murderer who is known for killing six people and injuring fourteen others during the 2014 Isla Vista killings”, cited as the founder of the “Incel” movement. Photo/video accompaniments include “pure” and “impure” materials (clear/soiled water, burned/unburned candles, extra virgin olive oil, virgin acrylic), a reenactment of the appearance of the Virgin Mary and other nods to her likeness, the first-ever Video Game Competition, a screen-capture from a YouTube video titled “How We Lost Our Virginity, Best Sneaky Link Experience (Part 1)” as well as other images of sexual and material “purity”.

Sorry, Loser

2025

Sorry, Loser, double-channel found footage video installation of 17 minutes and 51 seconds, created April of 2025.

An index of historical political apologies.

A hallucination of a collection of footage and articles.

A sound exorcism.

Some believe there are no real winners in war, only losers. When it comes to the winners and losers of the armed political world, where do apologies fit in? What’s stopping us from saying sorry? Or rather, what’s stopping us from meaning it?

DEMOLITION DISCO

2025

DEMOLITION DISCO, single-channel video installation of 3 minutes and 31 seconds, created 2025.

Inspired by Michel Foucault’'s Panopticon and Means of Correct Training, DEMOLITION DISCO suggests: when all hope of privacy and faith is lost in technocapitalist America, why not have an off-putting dance party?

DEMOLITION DISCO was demoed in two classes in March 2025, one as single-channel video and one as single-channel video accompanied with a display of publicly available personal information found via the internet about every participant in the seminar.
